Before Calvin and Hobbes . . .There was Kenyon
The online buzz among fans of Calvin and Hobbes creator Bill Watterson '80 soared last week when a number of Watterson's early works from the Kenyon Collegian and Reveille, the campus yearbook, appeared online. References to the artwork appeared throughout the week on blogs, Twitter, and Facebook.

Hillenbrand on Today
Laura Hillenbrand 1989 H'03 was featured on the Today Show to discuss her new book, Unbroken, released on November 16. Watch the video.

Notable Books
American Subversive, a novel by David Goodwillie '94, made the 100 Notable Books of 2010 list in the New York Times. Kenyon students had a chance to meet Goodwillie last spring when he returned to campus to talk about his work.

College Ramps Up Security
Alarm raised over threats made against Kenyon students by a Gambier resident has eased as law enforcement authorities and the College took steps to safeguard the community.

Have you made your gift to the Kenyon Fund? A new $1 million Trustee Challenge fund will match each new dollar donated to the Kenyon Fund and Kenyon Parents Fund with a dollar for financial aid for current students. A "new dollar" is any new amount over the previous year's contribution. Please show your support and make an online gift at gift.kenyon.edu. If you haven't given yet this calendar year, you might wish to do so soon.
